Bretagne | Brittany
Located in the north-west section of France, Britanny was an independent kingdom, and then a duchy before it became united with the Kingdom of France in 1532. The French Revolution (1789-1790) abolished all the special privileges of the Duchy. It is one of the most visited Regions in France.
Known in ancient times as Armorica, the Region is a blend of Celtic heritage and French charm. On our drives we enjoyed the rugged coastline, and many picturesque villages and historic sites. Some of the otwns still have their walls such as Saint-Malo, although rebuilt after the War.
