The Air Fancie non-stop flight, Vancouver to Paris, is very handy. This year flying Premium Economy again - the leg room and the seats are very confortable as well as having access to the faster service lines at the airports.
For the Spring trip we landed in Paris and then flew to Casablanca in Morocco. We were only the night in Casablanca and then traveled to Fez, Marrakesh and Essaouira. We returned to Casablanca and then flew to Valencia, Spain. We both really enjoyed the city. For me, it was the best blend of historic and modern architecture I have experienced so far. To conclude the trip we returned to Paris. Returning to Paris like sliding into a comfortable pairs of shoes. It was good to be back..
In the Fall we returned to Italy. Again the Air France Vancouver to Paris flight, Premium Economy again, and then a fight to Rome. There we picked up an Audi A3 convertible for an hour or so drive up to Montalto di Castro. An hour is about the maximum that I can drive after a long flight. We returned to the agriturismo La Pecora Ladra. We stayed there last year and enjoyed the pool, grounds and apartment. Montalto di Castro is well positioned to drive to a number of towns in Lazio, Umbria and Tuscany. After a week there, we drove down to In Amalfi. There we met a group of friends for a week at the Villa San Michele. The drive down in the convertible was great. Tense moments going through the mountains to get to Amalfi but it was all fun, in the end! We took over the majority of the small 12 room hotel. Had great sun, enjoyed our friendships and the sights. We then drive along the coast from Amalfi to Napoli. There we parted with the car and spend two days in one of the most exciting cities in Italy. From Napoli it was up by train to Rome for the last week of the vacation.
